The Evolution of Shrink-Fit Technology
Application
The ThermoGrip® ISG 4600 evolution covers a clamping range of 3 to 32 mm
in fully automatic operation. For additional applications, the clamping range can be extended to up to 50 mm
during manual shrinking. The interchangeable spool system provides further flexibility for a variety of applications.
With tool interfaces up to HSK 100 or SK 50, a maximum tool weight of 10 kg and a tool length of up to 680 mm,
the machine is also designed for demanding tool configurations.

The ThermoGrip® ISG 4600 evolution Shrink Unit automatically detects the tool geometry, adjusts
the iris coil and selects the optimal process parameter. Shrinking, cooling and drying are combined in one fully automated process.
POSITION - START - PERFECT SHRINKING
COMPLETELY COMPRESSED-AIR-FREE OPERATION
With the ThermoGrip® ISG 4600 evolution, Bilz Werkzeugfabrik has further developed
the inductive shrink technology. Intelligent sensor technology, automated process control and a comprehensive safety
concept ensure a reproducible, convenient and efficient shrink process. The system automatically recognises
the specific geometry, adjusts the iris coil accordingly and selects the appropriate shrink parameters. In this way, each process is
optimally tailored to the tool and chuck being used.
No compressed air supply is required to operate the ThermoGrip® ISG 4600 evolution. An optimised drying process removes any remaining liquid after the cooling process, without the need for additional compressed air. The unit therefore reduces the demands on the operational infrastructure and simplifies installation at the desired location.
PRODUCTIVITY IN A DOUBLE PACK
The ThermoGrip® ISG 4600 evolution
has two cooling positions.
This allows the individual work steps
to be efficiently linked together.
While a shrink chuck that has already been
heated is being cooled, the next shrinking
process can be prepared and carried out.
This process reduces waiting times
and enables a continuous
workflow.
